Kajian tindakan ini adalah bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemahiran pencarian maklumat dalam kalangan pelajar sarjana pendidikan dengan menggunakan Google Scholar. Sehubungan dengan itu kajian tindakan ini telah dilaksanakan dalam tempoh 14 minggu di Fakulti Pendidikan, Universiti kebangsaan Malaysia. Oleh itu satu bengkel berkaitan tentang pengenalan dan penggunaan Google Scholar telah dirancang dan dilaksanakan ke atas lima orang pelajar sarjana pendidikan. Pengumpulan data yang telah dijalankan menggunakan kajian lapangan dan sesi temu bual, pemerhatian dan ujian pra dan pos. Dapatan penggunaan Google Scholar ini berjaya meningkatkan kemahiran pencarian maklumat dalam kalangan pelajar sarjana pendidikan. Kesimpulan yang dapat dirumuskan bahawa penggunaan Google Scholar sangat berkesan serta dapat merangsang maksud Minat pelajar untuk terus menggunakannya sebagai enjin carian sumber maklumat yang lebih pantas dan mudah disamping dapat memberikan manfaat kepada mereka khususnya dalam membuat tugasan ilmiah.
AbstractThis course of study is aimed at enhancing information retrieval skills among undergraduate students using Google Scholar. Corresponding to that, this study was conducted within 14 weeks at the Faculty of Education, National University of Malaysia. An introductory workshop of Google Scholar utilization has been planned and carried out onto five postgraduate students. Data collection was carried out using field studies and interviews, observations and pre and post interviews. The finding has shown that Google Scholar was able to improve the information retrieval skills among postgraduate students. A conclusion that can be drawn is that the usage of Google Scholar is very effective yet stimulates students' interest in using the search engine as it is a faster and convenient source of information, which benefits them especially in completing scientific assignments.
